What is covered under Medigap Plan B

Medigap Plan B (otherwise known as Supplement Plan B) covers everything that Plan A covers, in addition to covering the Medicare Part A Deductible. This is an important feature sine the Part A Deductible is over $1,000 and could be incurred more than once per year, depending on how many hospital stays you have. The following expenses are covered by Plan B at 100%:

  • Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital costs (Up to an additional 365 days after Medicare benefits are used)

  • Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment

  • Blood (First 3 pints)

  • Part A Hospice care coinsurance or copayment

  • Medicare Part A deductible

What is not covered under Medigap Plan B

  • Skilled nursing facility care coinsurance

  • Medicare Part B deductible

  • Medicare Part B excess charges

  • Foreign travel emergency (Up to plan limits)
